“A day trip” excursion to Florence
Florence was built on the site of an Etruscan settlement, it’s the symbol of Renaissance and rose to economic and cultural pre-eminence under the Medici in the 15th and 16th centuries. Its 600 years of extraordinary artistic activity can be seen above all in the 13th century cathedral(Santa Maria del Fiore) the church of Santa Croce, the Uffizi and Pitti Palace, the work of great masters as Giotto, Brunellechi, Botticelli and Michelangelo. The historical center of Florence may best described as a treasure chest of works of art and architecture. In my experience as a full time tour guide I suggest that the first thing to see is the fantastic panoramic view of the city of Florence from Michelangelo’s Square. Then you should take a walking tour of downtown and enjoy the monuments and many other interesting sites that Florence offers to the visitors.
A speaking English driver of ours will pick you up at the Hotel and will bring you back to the same hotel, and he will remain at your disposal for all trip .
